Dr John Relic is a consultant specialist Dermatologist. John graduated from the University of NSW in 1977 and became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 1986. John has been practising as a Dermatologist in Lake Macquarie for twenty years. He is a Visiting Medical Officer and Head of the Department of Dermatology at the John Hunter Hospital as well as being a Visiting Medical Officer at  many private hospitals in the Hunter Region.

John completed a skin surgery course at the Scripps Clinic in San Diego in 1990 and takes a particular interest in skin surgery techniques. He also performs skin rejuvenation treatments using the Sciton Profile Laser and broadband light machine.

Pediatrics is John’s other area of special interest. John meets regularly with other Pediatric Dermatologists.  He runs a Pediatric Dermatology clinic fortnightly at the John Hunter Hospital and attends the Vascular Birthmarks clinics at Westmead Childrens Hospital on a bimonthly basis.

Dr Kathryn Holmes has been a member of the Lake Macquarie Dermatology team since 2005.  A graduate of Monash University in 1986, she has been practising medicine in the Hunter since 1989.  After training with a leading Sydney Cosmetic Surgeon she began working in the area of Cosmetic Medicine in 2003 before establishing her cosmetic practice in the setting of our professional medical Dermatology clinic.

Kathryn is a member of the Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia and a founding fellow of the Australasian College of Aesthetic Medicine.  She specialises in volume replacement, lip enhancement anad sculpting, wrinkle removal treatments, chemical peels, dermaroller, laser resurfacing and broadband light (BBL) for skin rejuvenation due to sun damage and pigmentation.

Kathryn also has advanced training in skin cancer diagnosis and management and she runs a regular skin cancer screening clinic.

Sarah Chatburn joined our practice in March 2008.

Sarah is a Registered Nurse with a background in many areas including pediatrics, the operating theatre and intensive care units.  She also comes to us with seven years experience in community pharmacy and a broad knowledge of medications and products. 

Sarah is our Rationale Skin Care specialist and is available for complimentary skin care consultations to discuss the many benefits of using the Rationale range.  She also has a broad knowledge of chemical peels, and has undertaken professional training in the use of the Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup range.

Sarah is also responsible for administering laser and broadband light therapy and has recently returned from the USA where she attended courses for specialty training in this area.

Sarah also conducts regular acne clinics providing valuable advice to clients about skin care, scar minimisation, appropriate dietary advice and different treatment options.
